We barely survived the retrograde of May showers, and now it's time for your (insert your flavor) summer to begin. The 9th Floor playlist has a little something-something for the hot girls _and_ the hot boys, the thotty and the thoughtful. It's imperative to create the perfect work-life balance. The new season's selections are curated for the beach and for business if your job is being the person with the best taste in music.

It wasn't an understatement when we said, Slake Dranksy is booked in busy in the studio. Slake's latest EP, _California_ dropped right before summer, and it's the perfect introduction to beach vibes and coastal car rides. For the day ones, you'll notice a slight departure from his classic sound. Slake enters a new evolution of production and takes advantage of his skill beyond piecing together a solid rap lyric. There are layers to his artwork. Check out the title track "California" on our newest playlist featuring other singles from earlier this year, including ["I Just Wanna Be Okay"](https://open.spotify.com/album/75YFTDbimLqbavegrFsDf5?si=1hMyboo-S9G1oxbfSinKKw) featuring TezaTalks.

It's long overdue that you get to know Aaron Shadrow, a talented musician and producer from Los Angeles. Get a taste of his dynamic ability to blend genres in his sophomore album, _SECOND THOUGHT_. The album features his tripped-out singles "MAKES ME FEEL A WAY" and "VOODOO DOLL." Shadrow's production credits include Trippie Redd's chart-topping track "Matt Hardy 999" and "regret" off iann dior's 2022 album _on to better things_.

Syd's new music reminds us why we were fans of every stage of her career, from Odd Future to the Internet. King Kendrick did it again, and nobody was surprised with his newest project, _Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers_. Do I sense another Pulitzer Prize on the horizon?

If you're searching for an album to completely take you away to paradise, listen to Bad Bunny's _Un Verano Sin Ti_. Pop music's loveable little cup of English Breakfast Harry Styles was right on time with _Harry House_, a brilliant follow-up to his sophomore album.

We included other favorite tracks from new albums from artists, including Jack Harlow, Tank and the Bangas, Machine Gun Kelly, and more. Get into it, and check out the [9th Floor Media playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6A7QiNbhK6v7yOYofG8INx?si=d5e2799f22b7419e).

The mantra remains that visual elements of musical artistry are an important thread in the fabric. Visit our [YouTube](https://bit.ly/3PVV11m) for the music video playlist from this month’s featured playlist.

Enjoy the music!
